I often think about blogging about something going on in our lives, but I have just seemed to run out of time these days. I am gone a minimum of about 50 hours per week for work/commuting with the rest of my time going towards my boys and some cleaning/cooking/laundry, etc. And sleep too, of course!
But, that leaves little to no time for a quality blog as I used to maintain. Sorry. If you want to see pictures real-time, you'll have to join FB and friend me. It's a lot easier to post a picture now and then on FB, straight from my iPhone, than to do this blog.
Well, enough griping. Here's some pictures of our last two weeks.

Playing on the iPad with Cyrus, I had a little guest on my bottom.
I find that the most stressful thing to deal with relating to my children is their (almost) constant squabbling. There's clearly something to having just one child. Having to deal with them fighting over toys is SO not what I want to do. Here was a brief period of serenity.
Cyrus has always been interested in learning. He's actually started asking to do his activity books so I can then give him an A+ when he does it all perfectly. I hope hope hope he continues to care about grades when he gets older.
Last weekend, I went out on a date with just Cyrus at the Grit. We had a good time. Cyrus said we could "tell each other stories about things we didn't know." So, that's what we did.
The boys have become obsessed with Star Wars. Here they are with their "light sabers," hunting for Darth Vader.
As always, we love having Brendan in town with us. He met us after work one evening at Olive Garden because he had wanted to come over to wrestle with the boys but Gabriel was out and about to meet me for dinner.
Satin is the snuggliest cat we have and he's started to even curl up on Kai. For Kai, that's the biggest treat, since the cats used to completely avoid him when he was a crazy little baby.
On Wednesdays, I usually take Kai to StoryTime at the library after dropping Cyrus off at school. We usually sing songs, listen to stories, and then do a craft. Last Wednesday, the theme was geese.
After picking Cyrus up from school, we headed to Chik-Fil-A for some playing and fruit cups. That's where their funny video about fighting monsters came from.
Last weekend, my friend from work, Susan, asked me to babysit her dog Chloe. Chloe's really a nervous Nellie, but sweet to kids and cats, so I agreed. The boys had a blast with her.
She was a very sweet and low-maintenance dog, but she was still more work than I wanted, so I was happy to give her back on Sunday. It helped confirm for me that I'm NOT ready to adopt a dog yet.
Nevertheless, we had fun walking her around Memorial Park.
The kids loved walking her and did a pretty good job of taking turns.
I meant to post about this already, but Cyrus is now having his good eye patched 4 hours per day to help strengthen his left eye. We got a second opinion from a Pediatric Ophthalmologist in Atlanta and the diagnosis was the same (Amblyopia), but the doctor said his left eye would never start to work right without patching the right. He's done great with it so far, and we usually do if after school so it doesn't interfere with his education.
I'm proud to say that this little two year old of ours remains potty-trained and in underwear all the time. Thank goodness both of my boys potty-trained (relatively) early for boys in the US. So glad that's done and over with.
Last weekend, my handsome hubby worked whenever he could to prepare for a three-day conference his software group was having. He was in charge of planning it and that is a LOT of work for one guy. It went well.
The boys playing in his office when we visited him.
Who knows what they are drawing? It reminded me of myself and my sister at Winthrop when we stayed with my dad after school.
Me and Chloe, surrounded by boys.
After Gabriel got off, we went downtown to watch UGA beat Auburn in the last regular season game and eat tacos at Fuzzy's. I love downtown Athens.
The boys always seem to run out of pajamas (or grow out of them, I guess), so I got a few soft, warm footie pajamas for them last week. They loved them. :)
Another day visiting Gabriel at work last weekend, Cyrus decided to pretend to be President Obama. When asked how he would get more money for the USA, he said he would give us all his money from his piggy bank.
These boys are Georgia Bulldawgs, through and through.
Last Sunday at Bishop Park while Gabriel was working.
My little monkey.
Two little monkeys, climbing a Japanese maple tree.
They spent forever playing in the dirt pile. It was dirty but...hey. That's what little boys do!
On Sunday night, we were lucky enough to have a visitor: my daddy! He came to stay with us for a few days to help us out while Gabriel was completely MIA due to his conference. (Seriously, Gabriel left before 7 AM every morning and got back around 10 PM every night!)
My dad helped feed them breakfast in the AM, drove them to school and daycare, spent the day working on his reports, and then picked them up early for playtime and dinner before I got home from work. What would we do without all of my children's excellent grandparents?
Here he is, telling the boys made-up stories. The boys love when their Pappap does this too.
This past Wednesday and Thursday, the boys and I have been a bit under the weather, so I kept them home with me and I took Thursday off to rest (although rest and keeping the boys home are completely contrary to one another). But, we had fun at the mall playground where Kai was the drive-thru guy and all the kids drove by for their apple ciders, etc.
We also made it to StoryTime on Wednesday, which was turkey-themed.
Wearing his turkey hat that we just made.
Sadly, today was not restful for another reason: our toilet overflowed. I had to clean everything up after Gabriel unclogged it. DIS-GUS-TING! I threw a lot of stuff away.
Tonight, we went to Earth Fare for Kids-Eat-Free night. They had a free face painter too.
Kai's puppy dog.
Cyrus requested a white duck, for some reason.
Quack!
